About This Plant

Full sun or part shade. Semi-evergreen, with small compound leaflets and red fruit clusters in autumn. Pistachio grows naturally into a loose, airy tree, but can be cultivated as a hedged shrub. Pistachio is native to Texas canyon country and along the Rio Grande.

Origins: Edwards Plateau west Texas and adjacent Mexico

Maintenance

Occasional pruning and training depending on desire form; can be hedged.

Not the source of edible nuts, but a country cousin.
