Sun/part shade. An herbaceous perennial; it appears in spring with blue flower spikes all summer long. A short-lived perennial, it normally freezes back down to the ground in winter.
Mealycup sage has been widely used in horticulture, with many, many selections and cultivars available: ‘Henry Duelberg’ is a famous selection from a cemetery in Round Top, and ‘Augusta Duelberg’ is a white-flowered variety from the same location. ‘Victoria’ is dark-flowered and large-leafed; ‘Evolution’ is a compact version.
