In sun this small shrub exhibits more of a rounded form; in shade it tends to ramble a bit; in either scenario, selective pruning easily keeps it tidy. Hog plum’s drupes are a favorite food for birds, and it makes excellent shelter for wildlife due to its dense zigzag branching.
