About This Plant

Sun or partial shade. Deciduous; nearly evergreen with tiny silvery leaves. Small purple blooms appear spring through fall. A useful ground cover in rocky areas challenged by thin soil difficult slopes or reflected heat. Dalea is long lived for such a dainty plant and easy to establish but don’t baby it; dalea does not appreciate fertilizing and watering.

Origins: West Texas and Northern Mexico

Maintenance

A mild spring shearing helps it maintain a denser form. Avoid fertilizer or excessive watering.

A trailing native groundcover for shallow limestone soils.
