Lifeless Landscape? Perk It Up!

There are plenty of plants that don’t require a lot of water or maintenance. And many of them will bloom all summer long with very little attention from you.

A hot and dry summer doesn’t necessarily equate to a lifeless landscape. There are plenty of plants that don’t require a lot of water or maintenance. And many of them will bloom all summer with very little to no watering.

I’m sharing some of my favorite plants in my landscape. With little to no care from me, they all manage to look great and garner compliments from my neighbors all the time. Consider adding some or all of them to jazz up your dreary summer landscape.

Bulbine Bulbine frutescens

Chinese Fringe Flower (Loropetalum) Loropetalum Chinese var. rubrum

Coreopsis Coreopsis lanceolata

Esperanza Tecoma stans

Firebush Hammelia patens

Firecracker Plant Russelia equisetiformis

Four Nerve Daisy Tetraneuris scaposa

Plumbago Plumbago auriculata

Pride of Barbados Caesalpinia spp.

Mystic Spires Salvia Salvia farinacea x longispicata ‘Mystic Spires’

Tropical Milkweed Asclepias curassavica

All of these pictures were taken during the summer. My plants basically survive on what Mother Nature provides — and they all look lovely.
