Websites happen to be one of my favorite sources of gardening information, allowing millions to share their knowledge and experiences. And because it can be difficult to decipher which sources are reliable or not, I’m sharing some of my favorites.
- The Texas A&M Forest Service website is an easy-to-navigate resource for a myriad of vital tree information including planting, care and selection. Thorough descriptions and attractive illustrations also make their tree selection page a gem of a resource.
- Plant Answers is the go-to site for specific and technical gardening questions. There you’ll find a treasure trove of answers from local experts.
- The Aggie Horticulture site is a stellar resource for almost any subject a gardener might broach. Fruit trees, native plants, master gardeners, vegetable gardening and water conservation are just a few of the topics available for you to explore.
While there are endless resources available on the Internet, exercise discretion when choosing which ones you rely on for truly accurate gardening information. Blogs and first-person websites usually speak from personal experiences, and while they can be informative and even entertaining, they may not be the best resource for your situation.
